Additionally, data obtained from freedom of information responses from 42 of the UK's 49 fire and rescue services shows that incidents involving lithium-ion batteries have risen by 147% since 2022, up from 713 recorded fires to 1,760 in 2025, the equivalent of 4.8 fires every day.
