Of particular interest is statistical evidence of a decline in projected life expectancy when compared with the data sets appearing in releases from earlier in the decade. This new data will feed into the eighth edition of the Ogden Tables, which is likely to appear in the New Year, but probably not before February. This is to allow time for the Government Actuary’s Department to rework this new ONS data into the tables of multipliers. They will probably use the 2022 projection data. Although relevant data is available for each of the four countries within the UK, the Ogden Tables will continue to present multipliers using national aggregate data (i.e. no separate tables for Scotland).
