The Lord Chancellor has today delivered the result of the long-awaited review of the Discount Rate (DR) used for calculating multipliers in high value personal injury cases. The review was called for almost immediately after the current rate of -0.75% was introduced in February 2017. The new rate, which will become effective on 5 August, is -0.25%, a move upwards but nowhere near the anticipated adjustment to between 0% and +1%.
