FOIL Update – Development of the new Whiplash Portal

The MIB whiplash reforms seminar on 30 July provided an opportunity for the MIB and the MOJ to present details of the new RTA portal to lawyers, both claimant and defendant, with an expert panel on hand to answer questions. (The new portal has yet to be named and branded but to avoid confusion is referred to as ‘the service’ in this update). After a week of tumultuous change in government, with a new PM and a new Lord Chancellor (albeit someone already in the MOJ), David Parkin, the MOJ official with responsibility for delivering the new portal gave a clear message on intent: “there is no change and we’re pressing on”.
