Event Details
This joint event is aimed at existing experts and professionals from any discipline who are considering becoming expert witnesses. Delegates will hear from a Presiding High Court Judge on judicial expectations and the duties of expert witnesses to the court. Professor Don McQuillan will then address the practical aspects of expert witness work, including relationships with instructing lawyers, terms and conditions, adding value and good business practices. The event will conclude with a panel discussion offering both legal professional and expert witness perspectives on the roles of lawyers and experts in litigation. There will also be opportunities for discussion and networking.
This event will give delegates practical insight into what courts and instructing lawyers expect from expert witnesses, with guidance on duties to the court, working effectively with legal teams, setting clear terms of engagement and using AI appropriately in expert work.
